I have been sailing a JY-15 all my life, and competitively for over 8 years now. I haven't been to any JY-15 regattas, but sail it collegiately and for four years in high school sailing. I disagree with several of the remarks about the tuning guide and how to sail the boat. I have always sailed the boat upwind flat with a slight feather in the jib, and i especially disagree with the downwind sailing of not winging the jib in under 5 knots.
I am trying to go to a few JY regattas in the future between my travelling college regattas and want to get a feel for what some of you experienced guys have found. Hopefully you will see my face a few times in the next year and I have plans to attend the next North Americans and possibly Mid-Winters.
