Greetings fellow JY sailors!
The  Rochester Canoe Club and JY15 Fleet #77 are honored and excited to be hosting the JY15 20th Anniversary North American Championships in conjunction with the JY Class Association.  Please check out the Notice of Race and registration form recently loaded on the JYCA and RCC websites (http://www.rochestercc.org/).  Early entries (by Sep 3) are encouraged to help our planning and save you $60!
 
RCC is located in Rochester, New York on the south side of Lake Ontario.  We race on Irondequoit Bay off the lake in Sunfish, JY's and Thistles.  Our JY fleet 77 began in 1996 and currently has 14 boats, 3 of which are owned by the club.  RCC is a modest, member run, low cost, one design sailboat racing club which began in 1881 (the oldest continuously operating sailing club in the area).  Canoes were replaced with sailing canoes then other sailboat fleets over the years.
 
Our facilities include a full kitchen, microwave ovens, stoves, refrigerator, freezer, mens and womens locker rooms and washrooms, sail loft and general purpose room.  Camping space and billets at RCC member homes are available to help defer your expenses.  Regatta participants are welcomed to make yourself at home and enjoy the use of our facilities as our honored guests.

20th Anniversary JY15 North Americans Update from the Rochester Canoe Club:
 
RCC planning for this event is coming along nicely.  The Camilo and Juan Pablo Hernandez team from Mexico City are the first official registration that I have received.  We have approximately 15 other registrations in process to date including 13 boats from RCC, JYCA president Marc Allen and 2 time JY NA winner John Potter.  JYCA secretary Birgit Gillman and husband Kevin ... are you in?
 
JY sailors please chime in if you are planning for the event.  We would love to get the number of participants up!
 
Your early registration (postmarked by Friday Sep 3) is appreciated!

I have negotiated a 10% discount for a consolidated order of sails and misc JY parts for the NA’s from Chris at Sound Boatworks in Westbrook Connecticut.  Payment for these items should be made by each ordering individual directly via phone call to Chris at Sound Boatworks using your credit card or other arrangement approved by Chris.

Key steps to place an order are as follows:

  1. E-mail to me the following information by Wed Sep 1, 2010
    1. Name
    2. Phone number

    4. Ship-to location info (Address and phone number) – if you do not want your order shipped to Rochester NY for pickup at the NA’s
  1. I will update my consolidated JYNA 2010 parts order and forward it to Chris with copy to you.
  2. Upon receiving a copy of my e-mail, call Chris at Sound Boatworks (800-459-3886) to complete payment for your order (reference you are part of the “JYNA 2010 order” and request the 10% discount.
  3. Orders will be shipped to me in Rochester NY for receipt on or before Wed Sep 15, 2010 unless you request your order be shipped to another location.
  4. I will have your order waiting at RCC for pickup at the North Americans if your order was shipped to me.

Remember to e-mail me your order information by Wed Sep 1, 2010.  After that date the ship will have left port!

JY 2010 NA RSVP & Registration status as of 9/1/2010:

We have 13 teams from RCC that have RSVP'd to date.  3 of the teams have completed registration and 5 of the teams still need a bit of organizing to finalize boats, crew or skipper.  In addition we have the following out of town RSVP’s and completed registrations:
